12.19.2011 Post Yoga-pocalypse
Realized why I’m enjoying Bikram so much in the middle of the class tonight. The instructor said Bikram (more specifically the standing poses) are meant to make you concentrate so intently and work so hard that you it forces your mind to not think about anything else that’s bothering you or weighing on your mind. I didn’t think I was going to be able to walk to the bus when I got out of the class, and I thought I might puke twice in the middle, but afterwards I felt like I let so much out—physically and emotionally. So glad I found the classes because I think it’s just what I needed to get through winter in Chicago.
